Time really flies by just like that… *sigh*

I spent last week excited about meeting with a long lost friend.  Now, it’s just… gone… just like that!  I had fun though, didn’t get to shop so much, and to think, it’s the super Singapore sale this month.  I mostly spent my time trying different cuisines.

Foods I got to try were:

  1. Roti Prata – Indian style bread served with curry paste

  2. North Indian Ice Cream – their ice cream is frozen in a silver oblong container, so you don’t get to see the ice cream until it is served.  They serve the ice cream by chopping it into 1cm thick circles, mixed with your choice of toppings of walnuts, etc.

  3. Indian Candies – Indian sweets.  Very delectable indeed.  I think most of the tastes are the same with Philippine desserts, but they serve and mix it differently.

  4. Mediterranean Cuisine – we ordered their bread, it’s almost the same as the Indian bread but a little bit sweeter, and mixed with loads of sesame seeds.  Tried their dessert also, called baklava, heavenly!  J

  5. Local Singaporean Cuisine – the best I had was the squid made into bichu-bichu like bread with loads of sesame seeds, and eaten with loads of pepper crab, yummm… really the best!

Also, I’ve been looking for quite sometime now for a cool navel ring, I finally found it in Singapore!

J  YEY!!!  Also, fake watches are the in-fashion nowadays, I was thinking of whether to buy a real one or a fake one, but it’s just too good looking to resist!  J

That’s it for now.  Hope everyone’s safe and sound and doing G-R-E-A-T!  Till next time.

I Am…

Wednesday, June 7th, 2006

I AM: Passionate, an analyzer, caring, organized (sometimes bordering on being OC – obsessive compulsive), strong, dependable, responsible, somebody stop me…

I WANT: Peace in my life and for those I love. WORLD PEACE.
I WISH: To be able to share God’s word to every single person I meet.
I MISS: My Family.  Spending “silent/peace” times with them, the way you feel when you are amidst people that you know will be there for you whatever happens.

I HEAR: Women talking cause I’m in the middle of a ladies’ meeting right now… Topic: You don’t wanna know.
I WONDER: If I am making God proud every single day.
I REGRET: Not getting to spend as much time with my family as I want to.
I AM NOT: Who I used to be.  Not to worry, definitely positive changes.
I DANCE: On competitions, I need someone to choreograph my moves. I don’t like going to disco places.  That’s just me. =P
I SING: Whenever I can.  In the bathroom, on the road, and most especially on stage.
I CRY: Whenever I watch those senti movies.  I cry even in animated films.  I guess that tells you how compassionate I am…
I AM NOT ALWAYS: As strong as I’d like to think I am. I have my down times too.
I MAKE WITH MY HANDS: The best “Steph made-up-on-the-spot” meal.
I WRITE: Whenever I need to get something out of my system, good or bad.
I CONFUSE: Others? Definitely not!  Right?…   Myself?  Nah…
I NEED: The BEST husband in the world.
I SHOULD: Finish the bible by December 2007 at the very latest.
I START: My day by taking a good hot steamy bath.

I THINK: Of food every single hour of every day.
I FINISH: At least one chapter of the bible every day. Books, I don’t know how long I finish them, depends on how interesting I guess.
I LOVE: With all my mind, with all my heart, and with all my soul…  and not to forget FOOD, definitely FOOD!

I am soooo blessed…

I’ve been helping out with a Christian school here in Jakarta for quite a few months now, 4.5 months to be exact.  And I have learned so much from the kids, age ranges from 6-16.  Some of the things I learned:

  1. It is only natural for people to be “sweet” to each other, even boys to boys (cause the way I see it, as we grow up, our mind gets polluted with loads of stuff, and then we become so stiff, unloving, etc.)

  2. In school, they want to study only ¼ of the time and the other ¾ of the time should be spent on playing =P

  3. they like to eat every two hours
……there’s a lot more but I don’t wanna go into too much details,

But here’s one that I will never forget (from a 7 year old kid):  Even if you know how to swim, you don’t jump right into the pool unless there’s adultery.  Ha ha ha ha ha  (what the kid meant to say was you get into the pool only if there’s an adult around) ha ha ha  owww my stomach…..!!!

The school year is about to end and they made all the kids and their mommies choose their role model teacher, funniest teacher and most disciplined teacher.  I’m so blessed to know that with only a few short months with the kids, they love me!!!  I came in the top three for both the funniest teacher and role model teacher.  I came in the top five for most disciplined teacher  (they meant disciplinarian) ….And knowing that made my week!  J

May you have a great week ahead!  J
